Meet Our Pastor
Fr Timothy Fariss
Fr Timothy Fariss grew up the youngest of four in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he attended services at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Levittown with his maternal grandmother and family. After high school, he received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from West Chester University in 2012 before ascending to the role of director of finance at LaSalle University.
After several years of volunteering in a local Roman Catholic youth ministry, he realized the Church’s dire need for good men to become a part of the clergy. Fr Timothy then entered Byzantine Catholic Seminary of Saints Cyril and Methodius of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2016, graduating in 2020. He moved to the northern panhandle of West Virginia while discerning marriage and later met his wife, Kolby, while on a trip to visit her home parish in Barberton, Ohio.
After marrying his wife in July 2023, he was ordained to the Diaconate on August 27. On April 7, 2024, Fr Timothy was ordained to the Priesthood by His Eminence, Metropolitan Archbishop William Skurla, all before he and Kolby welcomed their first son, Cassian, the following month of May.
On August 1, 2024 Fr Timothy was assigned by His Eminence to The Holy Protection of St Mary Byzantine Catholic Church in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Fr Timothy and his family feel so blessed with the love and generosity of their parishioners, and he is so earnest to care for his flock with love and to teach about the traditions and history of the Byzantine Catholic Church, all of which he has grown so passionate about over the years.
